The Need for Speed (1994)

The Need for Speed (1994)Edit

Main article: The Need for Speed
The original Need for Speed was released for 3DO in 1994 with versions released for the PC (DOS) (1995), PlayStation and Saturn (1996) following shortly afterwards. The Need for Speedand its Special Edition were the only games in the series to support DOS, with subsequent releases for the PC run only within Windows.
The first installment of The Need for Speed was the only serious attempt by the series to provide a realistic simulation of car handling elements through the direct collaboration of Staff members from Road & Track. Electronic Arts left the handling dynamics tuning with the automotive magazine's seasoned drivers to match vehicle behavior including realistic over and understeer that remains impressive decades later, as well as sounds made by the vehicles' gear control levers and other functions. The game contained vehicle data with spoken commentary, several "magazine style" images of each car, and short video-clips highlighting the vehicles set to music.
Most cars and tracks are available at the beginning of the game, and the objective is to unlock the remaining locked content by winning tournaments. This version featured chases by police cars, a popular theme throughout the series.
Another version called The Need for Speed: Special Edition, was released only for the PC in 1996. It featured support for DirectX 2 and TCP/IP networking, two new tracks, but dropped the ever-popular flip and go in favor of the more generic scene reset after an accident, a portents of the arcade style gaming that would dominate the series ever after.

Feature of YouTube

Features Video technology YouTube primarily uses the  VP9  and  H.264/MPEG-4 AVC  video formats, and the  Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP  protocol. [ citation needed ] Playback Previously, viewing YouTube videos on a personal computer required the  Adobe Flash Player  plug-in to be installed in the browser. [69]  In January 2010, YouTube launched an experimental version of the site that used the built-in multimedia capabilities of web browsers supporting the  HTML5  standard. [70]  This allowed videos to be viewed without requiring Adobe Flash Player or any other plug-in to be installed. [71] [72]  The YouTube site had a page that allowed supported browsers to opt into the HTML5 trial. Only browsers that supported HTML5 Video using the  MP4  (with  H.264  video) or  WebM  (with  VP8  video) formats could play the videos, and not all videos on the site were available...

how to safe your life with hackers

20 ways to keep your internet identity safe from hackers Do you use the same password for all websites? Do you overshare on Facebook? If so, you're a target for cybercriminals – whose computer scams are costing Britain £27bn a year. We asked experts for their top tips to beat the fraudsters. W e're high up in the Gherkin in the City of London and Garry Sidaway, director of security strategy at Integralis, a firm which advises government agencies, pharmaceutical and financial services multinationals, is giving my computer a security MOT. "You don't have anti-virus software, I see," he says, a trace of mockery in his voice. "That's your first mistake." According to Sidaway, while most of us are much more aware of the risks now ("My mum shreds her documents even if she doesn't know why," he says), we should all be raising the bar. He thinks we Britons are an overly trusting lot. Sitting ducks for an armad...
